Eyelid Lesions – Lumps and Bumps
There are an astonishing number of tumors (growths) that can affect the tissues around the eyelid and in the orbit. Many tumors are benign (non-cancerous) growths and these usually require straightforward surgical treatment, and are commonly of only cosmetic significance.
Some of the most common lesions we see are styes and chalazia, and these can be reduced in size and frequency with warm compresses and lid hygiene. Many of the small, benign eyelid lesions, including persistent chalazia, can be treated the same day in-office with local anesthetic.
